Merry Christmas

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on December 26, 2008 by James Divers

Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all who have been checking out the blog. I know I’m a little late but so what. I have a couple of “homework” assignments to do over the break until my instructor returns from up north, I promise I’m gonna get on it. Also just wanted to share some funny ads I found.

Inspiration

Posted in Random Tidbits on December 18, 2008 by James Divers

I can’t believe that Christmas is next week, boy this year has flown by.  2008 has definitely been a roller coaster ride for me and I plan on having a good 2009. I think about my current financial state, but then I am constantly reminded of the masses of people that are a lot worse off than me. I hope that 2009 is a positive year for everyone; the U.S. is in a financial turmoil (dare I say it, DEPRESSION).

I have to say thanks a billion to Chane for reinvigorating me and inspiring me to continue with my design work. I have been having a very hard time getting any kind of IT work and she stated that maybe it is happening for a reason. I really believe that and am working on making myself more marketable as a designer. If anyone is looking for a good designer, or budding photographer definitely check her out. Her website is http://7in.us/.

And here’s some design craziness to check out.

Back from Hiatus

It’s been a long time since my last blog posting. I am currently looking to find an internship or job in Interactive Design. I have tried my best at “cold-calling” agencies in the Atlanta area, but have been unsuccessful for various reasons. I have also began to work on creating the Mr. Next Level Website for DJ Kidd.  I am a nervous about the coding of the website and how to go from sketching it up to having it go live. I am using various resources (friends, colleagues, internet) to help me through this process. I am also working on coming up with my own branding system for myself.

If you don’t already know check out thefwa.com for some of the best flash websites on the internet. This website is great for inspiration for my future greatness.

Check out this proposed design for the future of  buses in London.

For my hip hop heads out there, if you haven’t heard about Wale you need to check him out.  He just recently signed to Mark Ronson’s label after like 3+ years of pretty much ruling the DC radio airwaves.  Wale is better than Dylan cuz he really does “Spit Hot Fire”  You can download his mixtape 100 miles and running for free.

Spectacular Spider Man

Posted in Random Tidbits with tags , , , , , , on April 10, 2008 by James Divers

I’ve always been a junkie for Comic Books every since I was a little kid, back when comics were popular.  Me and a couple of my buddies use to collect trading cards like crazy, and tried our hardest to put together a complete series of Spider Man trading cards.  We got it about 85% complete before they were thrown away for being too demonic looking. (Thanks Mom!) She must have seen a picture of Venom (my fav. character from Spiderman) with his tongue out and slimey spit going everywhere.

Anyway I also am a fan of an illustrator/artist by the name of Cheeks.  Come to find out he is the lead artist for the new spiderman animated series on the WB.  Check out his blog at: http://gotcheeks.blogspot.com.  You can check out the new animated series at: http://www.spideytv.com/

Here are some pics from ‘Cheeks”

Getting back in Grind Mode

Posted in Uncategorized on April 3, 2008 by James Divers

Break is coming to a swift end. Classes start back up on Monday. Two weeks goes by way too fast, but at least I got to get somethings done. I’m gonna try and finish the rest of a book called “Drama City” by George Pelecanos. Pelecanos is a good writer from DC, he wrote a few episodes on HBO’s The Wire (my favorite show….damn I miss it already!). He’s has a few good ones, to check out if you are into that genre of fiction. Shouts to J The Third for showing support.
