For my hip hop heads out there, if you haven’t heard about Wale you need to check him out.  He just recently signed to Mark Ronson’s label after like 3+ years of pretty much ruling the DC radio airwaves.  Wale is better than Dylan cuz he really does “Spit Hot Fire”  You can download his mixtape 100 miles and running for free.

Spectacular Spider Man

I’ve always been a junkie for Comic Books every since I was a little kid, back when comics were popular.  Me and a couple of my buddies use to collect trading cards like crazy, and tried our hardest to put together a complete series of Spider Man trading cards.  We got it about 85% complete before they were thrown away for being too demonic looking. (Thanks Mom!) She must have seen a picture of Venom (my fav. character from Spiderman) with his tongue out and slimey spit going everywhere.

Anyway I also am a fan of an illustrator/artist by the name of Cheeks.  Come to find out he is the lead artist for the new spiderman animated series on the WB.  Check out his blog at: http://gotcheeks.blogspot.com.  You can check out the new animated series at: http://www.spideytv.com/

Here are some pics from ‘Cheeks”

Getting back in Grind Mode

Break is coming to a swift end. Classes start back up on Monday. Two weeks goes by way too fast, but at least I got to get somethings done. I’m gonna try and finish the rest of a book called “Drama City” by George Pelecanos. Pelecanos is a good writer from DC, he wrote a few episodes on HBO’s The Wire (my favorite show….damn I miss it already!). He’s has a few good ones, to check out if you are into that genre of fiction. Shouts to J The Third for showing support.

Panel Time

Posted in Circus Work with tags , , on March 18, 2008 by James Divers

Nothing like staying up late to finish up Circus stuff. I have panel tomorrow morning at 9:50 and had to do some last minute stuff. I finished this skateboard like 20 min. ago. I would have been done with it if it wasn’t for a sucky sign printer(GG Signs). Nothing like the smell of Xylene at 2 am. I did the entire logo design of “Mute” which doesn’t exist yet. Anyways, take a look at the finished photos and tell me what you think.

Moving BACK In

Posted in Uncategorized on March 13, 2008 by James Divers

So today, I finally get to move back into my apartment after about 5 days of being in various hotels throughout the Atlanta Metro Area. It seems like there is always something that wants to go down toward the end of each quarter. I am actually pretty proud of my self for not having a nervous breakdown or something, because of the apt. situation, and the fact that it is the end of the quarter which is crunch time. I did a lot better than last quarter, and only have a few nicks and crannies I need to fill before panel next Tues. After that its chill time for me. The best and probably fastest two and a half weeks of vacation I’ve ever had.

This is my first time joining the blogging universe. I guess I’m just a late bloomer. I, like many others, have lots of shit to say and sometimes just need a place to air it out. So this will be my place. A little about me….. I’m a 27 yr. old Graphic Design student at the Creative Circus in ATL Shawty. I am a very laid back dude, and a constant ponderer. I’m originally from Roanoke, VA and I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Through many ups and downs, I have finally figured out what I want to be doing for Chalupa (GWOP, Bread, Cash, Doe, Cheese). I hope to keep this as interesting as possible and as updated as possible. Enjoy.
